Whilst the client had mature business processes defined and shared across teams, the processes were on paper and did not connect with users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The client was already using Flare\u2019s Catalog and Taxonomy technologies to classify a wide range of energy information types, with more than twelve million items stored in the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Field Development Plan was a critical process in the organisation, and it was difficult to implement the process consistently in each field, or to know where in the process a particular field development plan was. It was also very difficult to find all Field Development Plan\u2019s and their related documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Flare\u2019s Approach<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The existing Field Development process was analysed, and a Tracker equivalent best practice was developed, capturing key workflow and deliverables. Tracker allowed the deliverables for each step to be clearly identified, with the option to add delivery dates and responsible parties for each step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"851\" height=\"293\" src=\"https:\/\/flare-solutions.com\/FS2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/drilling-management.png\" alt=\"Drilling Management\" class=\"wp-image-2241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flare-solutions.com\/FS2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/drilling-management.png 851w, https:\/\/flare-solutions.com\/FS2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/drilling-management-300x103.png 300w, https:\/\/flare-solutions.com\/FS2026\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/drilling-management-768x264.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An appropriate governance model and roll-out plan was developed with the client.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tracker process was mandatory and adopted globally. This facilitated a key principal that all metadata entries are visible to all \u2013 thereby making it easy for any manager to see where any asset was in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project was a digital transformation, taking a well-established business process, previously communicated through documents and manuals and effectively turning it into an application to assist all stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Outcomes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The client was already benefiting from the Catalog which improved users access to information across the company. People were able to find the information for their assets, and for related analogues quickly and easily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tracker provided a clear view of what deliverables are required at each step of the process, who is responsible, and whether the documents had been provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The field development teams have far better access to their finalised project information. The visibility of a \u2018check-list\u2019 of key deliverables makes it easy to know what to produce and when.
